How God Speaks to You

You may or may not of heard of how God speaks to you and what it may be like. Many are curious as to how He sounds. In my journey I have found God's voice to be a very gentle, loving voice, a voice that is reassuring and comforting. If you've ever gotten to look at the Fruits of the Spirit in the bible (found in Galatians 5:22-23) and what the fruits are, that's what you can expect to hear in His voice.

Fruits of the Spirit:

  • Goodness

  • Gentleness

  • Love

  • Peace

  • Patience

  • Joy

  • Kindness

  • Faithfulness

  • Calmness

Depending upon what kind of bible version, whether it be online or offline that you have there are a lot of different translations about the Fruits of the Spirit. Some of the words change as you read through Galatians 5:22-23. His voice is going to be a calm, gentle voice.

There were voices before when I was just learning that would come in and I thought they were God but learned later they were not, so it's important for me to get the right information out to you. Your journey is going to be different than mine but that distinct voice of gentleness, kindness, and love is right in line with the fruits of the spirit and is much better than a voice that is yelling, that is harsh, that is commanding, that is demanding, those voice sounds won't be Him. Those negative voice sounds, you can rebuke in the name of Jesus Christ.

Journey TIP

Any negative voices coming in? You have been given the power to rebuke them in Jesus Christ's name, Amen! And on my journey I have just said "I bring every thought captive to the obedience of Jesus Christ, in the name of Jesus Christ's mighty name, Amen."

A helpful verse: Ephesians 6:10-18, refer to the Armor of God entry in the blog for review. New verse I came along recently, of course it isn't new, it's been around a long time, but it became new to me, 1 John 5:18 "We are convinced that everyone fathered by God does not make sinning a way of life, because the Son of God protects the child of God, and the Evil One cannot touch him." And for all those parents who remember MC Hammer. you remember the song: "Can't Touch This!" Yeah, it's like that! The enemy can't touch you, this verse is a promise and a really good one too! So anytime you are feeling like the enemy has to step off, umm yup he sure does have to according to this verse: 1 John 5:18!! God's Promises are sooo good and they never expire, yay!!

As you grow in your journey you may have a different thing you will pray, but that gives you a place to start.
